Israeli official: Israel will not interfere in Lebanese developments

The Voice of Israel radio station quoted on Wednesday an unnamed Israeli official as saying that Israel will not interfere in Lebanese developments because they are linked to domestic issues.

The station added that Israel will retaliate if Hezbollah takes a military action against Israel.

Lebanon's unity government collapsed after Hezbollah and its allies pulled their 10 ministers from cabinet and one minister close to President Michel Sleiman announced his withdrawal, providing the necessary number of resignations for the government to collapse.

The cabinet’s collapse is over the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) probing the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

The Shia group Hezbollah and its allies have for months been pressing Prime Minister Saad Hariri to disavow the STL on the grounds that it is part of a US-Israeli plot that will indict Hezbollah members.

Gaza situation “very dangerous” Arabs warn Hamas

on a warning from Arab leaders about firing rockets at Israel, a faction leader told AFP.

The meeting was taking place at a Gaza City hotel just days after Hamas said it would ensure militant factions obeyed a national consensus truce on rocket fire, following weeks of rising tensions along the border with Israel.

Among those invited were members of Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) and other groups involved in the resistance committee, the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

"Hamas asked us to this meeting at the Al-Quds Hotel in Gaza; they said it was urgent," he said, adding that it was called by senior Hamas officials Mahmud Zahar, Khalil al-Haya and Ayman Taha.

"Hamas received a message from Egypt and other parties, some of them Arab, telling them that the situation along the Gaza border is very dangerous, and that Israel might start another war if the firing of rockets continues, especially Grads," he said, referring to a Soviet-designed rocket with a range of up to 40 kilometers.

In recent weeks, Gaza militants have fired scores of rockets into Israel, prompting a flurry of retaliatory air strikes and raising fears that the Jewish state would launch another massive operation along the lines of the 2008-2009 war.

The truce was announced at the end of "Operation Cast Lead" in January 2009 and has been largely respected by Hamas but not by other militant groups.

The 22-day war, which ended in a ceasefire on January 18, killed 1,400 Palestinians, more than half of them civilians, and 13 Israelis, 10 of them soldiers.

Hell is exothermic !

"First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let us look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand as souls are added. This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. Of course, if Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa Banyan during my Freshman year, "...that it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you.", and take into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then, #2 cannot be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and will not freeze."

I am 62 but I expect to see in my lifetime a number of formerly Christian countries in Europe turning Muslim. There are five reasons for this dismal, frightening prognosis:

1. Muslims are immigrating to Europe in unprecedented numbers [NPR].
   
2. When they get there, Muslims are reproducing faster than a bacterial infection [PBS]
   
3. Muslims cleverly exploit the European welfare state further burdening the youngest and hardest working thus encouraging further emigration [ParaPundit].
   
4. European Christians are fleeing from the growing Muslim infestation and consequent barbarities [Pajamas Media].
   
5. The Christians who remain are not procreating fast enough to maintain their numbers [HumanEvents.com].

Hopefully we can keep America from the same infestation of Muslims that has overtaken Europe so that Europe's non-Muslim population has a safe haven to immigrate to.

Mark Steyn's book America Alone: The End of the World As We Know It suggests that Europe may be too far gone to save and if Western Civilization is to survive America has to stand up against Islam. Mark Steyn points out that the current demographics favor Muslims whose birthrate is a multiple of non-Muslims. As this unassimilated minority becomes a majority they will change the institutions until the culture becomes Islamic.

They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:

Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris , we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Today's 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world's population. But their birth rates dwarf the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world's population by the end of this century.

Ted Williams: Homeless Man with The Golden Voice No Longer Homeless

Ted Williams a homeless man with a golden voice is no longer homeless! It all started with a video which went viral since Tuesday with Williams panhandled for money holding a hand-written sign. (Click his name to watch the You Tube video that's turning Williams' life around with over 7.5 million hits since Tuesday.)

Homeless Williams has became an overnight sensation thanks to the Internet. He could well be on his way to become a sports announcer. In the video, he says he has a background in radio but fell on hard times due to drug and alcohol.

Ted has been offered a job by the Cleveland Cavaliers. NFL Films reached out to the Columbus Dispatch newspaper, which profiled Williams, to hire him for voiceover work.

NBC's Today Show, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live and MTV are calling for interviews with Ted, a 53-year Brooklyn native. By midday Wednesday, Williams had himself an agent who was fielding an avalanche of job offers and media requests.

Ted got a second chance. What an amazing story for the start of the year!

Al-shabab fighters amputate limbs of 19 years old

BAIDOA –Al-shabab fighters controlling Baidoa, a stronghold of Islamist militias in southern Somalia have forcibly amputated limbs of 19 years man in the town of Bay region on Tuesday as he was charged for banditry.

Residents told all voices office in the Somali capital Mogadishu that a court belonging Al-shabab had publicly cut off hand and leg of the young man in the town adding that they were ordered to come together for watching how they carried out the sentence there.

“We were many people; we were called for gathering to a square in Baidoa town. There were also more other people. Fighters cut the arm and leg of the Youngman. We were very worried at that moments, because we could not watch further how they were amputating the man’s limbs, they said, he stole some thing, then we decided to sentence him with Sharia,” said one of the residents who requested to be disclosed.

Sheik Abu Feysal, the judge of the court of Al-shabab fighters had condemned him for involving banditry actions in the town for past recent months. He added that the man admitted of committing the crime before sentencing.

The man was called as Nor Mohamed Nor, aged 19

It is not new to the eyes and ears of the Somali people for seeking Al-shabab fighters cutting hands, legs of the young teenagers in south and central Somalia while they often kill; torture the civilians in the areas under their control.

Jerusalem court convicts 'Taliban mother' of child abuse

Haredi mother of 12, known for her full-body covering, indicted in April 2008 for severly beating her children.

The Jerusalem District Court on Sunday convicted an ultra-Orthodox woman of severe child abuse and aggravated assault.

The mother of 12, from the town of Beit Shemesh, near Jerusalem, was charged in April 2008 on suspicion of beating her children with belts, sticks and electric wire.

According to the indictment, she also tied up one of her children, stomped on another's feet, cut one of her daughter's hair as punishment and stubbed a burning march on another's chest.

She was also suspected of forcibly waking her children by splashing cold water on them and of habitually locking them out of the house.

The woman's husband was convicted of assisting the abuse and of neglecting to report it to police. Her 27-year-old son is still under investigation for allegedly sexually abusing his sisters.

The police investigation began in early February 2008, after neighbors reported hearing a child crying for help and seeing objects being thrown at him. The responding officers were forced to wait outside the apartment for two hours because the mother refused to let them in. Only rabbinical intervention enabled the entry of the police.

The woman, who belongs to a sect in Beit Shemesh which wears black full-body covering as a sign of their religious modesty, has been connoted in the media as "the Taliban mother."

Her defense attorney said during the indictment proceedings last year that she had suffered "psychological disability and the welfare services provided no help."

Meanwhile, the Knesset is planning to hold a special session on the Jerusalem riots sparked by the arrest of another ultra-Orthodox woman accused of starving her three-year-old son.

Israel says "go home" to Turkish construction workers

Hundreds of Turkish workers currently in Israel working for Yilmazlar Holding have been told to leave the country following the non-renewal of their work permits and visas.

The workers were asked to leave Israel by Jan. 31, according to a written statement from Yilmazlar Holding. "This is a new crisis with Israel," the company said, adding that on top of Israel's request for the workers to leave, the government did not extend their visas.

The 800 workers, who staged a protest Dec. 28 in Tel Aviv, had been working as part of a tank modernization deal between Israel and Turkey since 2002.

"Their contracts originally continued until 2015. A written warning from Israel to the workers has left them in a tough situation. [We have] informed the Prime Ministry and the government. This is unacceptable," the company said.

"Thousands of Israeli companies are active in Turkey without any trouble," the statement said. "We expect the Turkish government to intervene. We are seeing that the Turkish government has left us at the mercy of the Israeli government. We invite the government to fulfill its duty."

The workers owe their current jobs to Israel's winning the $860 million tender to modernize 170 M60 battle tanks for Turkey in 2002. The agreement at the time said Israel should get at least $180 million worth of supplies from Turkey.

However, Israel was not able to do so and in 2003, Y?lmazlar Holding came into the picture when the use of a Turkish workforce in Israel was proposed as compensation.

As part of this "offset agreement," 800 Turkish workers received special permits to work in Israel.

A fine of 10 percent of the original $180 million, levied on Israel due to its failure to supply parts from Turkey, was also set in motion by the company, which then paid the received money to Turkey.

"The three-year work permits were extended three times," the company said. "The last extension expired as of Jan. 1." Yilmazlar applied in Turkey to assist in having the permits extended, but did not receive any reply from the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defense Industries.

The report is not fullly correct. It was the Turkish government, who did not renew the agreement with Israel of 2003 per January 1st. The reasons for that lie in the Turkish policy towards Israel.

A study by the Beer Academy suggests that the health benefits of drinking beer are not widely understood by a significant proportion of the UK population.

According to UK News MSN, a recent study commissioned by the Beer Academy of Great Britain released on 21st June 2010 highlights the ignorance of the many healthy aspects of drinking good quality beer in moderation. The survey found that while 68% recognised beer as UK's national drink, almost 10% thought it contained fat and 13% believed it was made from chemicals rather than from the fermentation of barley malt.

Analysing beer is tricky because there are many variations in the ingredients and methodology among the bottles and barrels, but there are some well-known nutrients common to all decent brews which the report enthusiastically identifies.
A typical pint (570ml) of 3.4% ABV (Alcohol by Volume) beer contains:

• vitamins from the B complex, including riboflavin, niacin, B6, folate, pantothenate and biotin
• a broad range of minerals, depending on the water added in the fermentation process, but including copper, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, silicon, iron and zinc
• 12.5g of sugars, mostly glucose and maltose (1)
• 1.7g of proteins from the added hops
• variable amounts of soluble fibre from the cell walls of the hops
• antioxidants such as polyphenols and flavenoids from the cell sap of the added hops
• a calorific value of approx 190kcals per pint, equivalent to the same amount of skimmed milk
• 19ml of ethyl alcohol, equivalent to almost two units of alcohol
• 530ml of water, which more than explains the need to pass urine after consumption!

The New Year's Eve suicide bombing at an Egyptian Coptic church that killed 21 people is stoking fears of a new onslaught against Christians by radical Islamists. In response, some radical Islamists are turning to their great bogeyman to deflect attention - the Zionists.

"Mossad behind Egypt church blast," Iran's official television outlet, Press TV, said in a headline Sunday. All the evidence points to a Zionist plot, the article said.

First, "it goes without saying that no Muslim, whatever their political leanings may be, will ever commit such an inhumane act." In addition, Press TV reported that "the fresh plot by terrorists to target churches is an organized Zionist scenario aimed at creating a rift between Muslims and Christians."

Christians are expressing fear the attack marks a widening of attacks by radical Islamists, which have increased dramatically in Iraq. Dozens of people were killed after terrorists took more than 120 Christians hostage in a Baghdad Catholic church in late October.

Egyptian authorities are investigating a radical Salafi Sunni group in Alexandria, London's Telegraph reports. The story notes that al-Qaida in Iraq issued a statement two weeks ago encouraging attacks on Copts. The targeted church appeared on a list of 50 Coptic churches in Egypt and Europe published a month ago by Shumukh al-Islam, a group tied to al-Qaida.

Al-Qaida threats against Christians have spread as far as Canada.

Rather than address the threat directly and offer assistance to stem it, Islamists are building their scapegoat. The rhetoric can't be dismissed as solely the rantings of crazy Iranian mullahs. A Muslim Brotherhood official, an Egyptian lawyers group and Lebanon's grand mufti have all said the same thing, though they offer varying motives.

"The Mossad carried out the operation in a natural reaction to the latest uncovering of an Israeli espionage network," the lawyers group said during a rally for the attack's victims sponsored by the Egyptian Bar Association.

A member of the Muslim Brotherhood's Shura Council in Egypt condemned the attack, calling it an evil action. Moneim Aboul al Fattouh Abdel said it could not have been done by Egyptians, though he allowed the perpetrator might be the Mossad or someone else of trying to sabotage Egypt.

"This assault...is not an individual internal Egyptian act, but a criminal act with Zionist...finger prints that want to sow hatred among Muslims and Coptic Christians," said Lebanon's Grand Mufti, Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani.

The Brotherhood's English-language website summarized an interview spokesman Mohamed Morsy gave Al-Jazeera. In it, he cast the attacks as an attempt to undermine Egyptian unity, questioning whether Israel wants to undermine that. "In whose benefit and major interest is it to destabilize Egypt's stability and safety?" he asked.

The Press TV report painted an idyllic image of life for Christians in Egypt, but a doctor treating the wounded from last weekend's suicide bombing disagreed. Many Copts, frustrated by a lack of government action to protect them, are thinking of leaving the country, Dalia Nabil told the BBC.

"A lot of us think that this is a plan to make Christians go away from Egypt. The planner is al-Qaida," Nabil said.

The reaction is consistent with radical Islamist behavior in the wake of damaging episodes both large and small. For example:

In anticipation of indictments from a United Nations tribunal investigating the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, Hizballah leaders accused Israel of the murder.
In 2006, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said publication of cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad by a Danish newspaper was a "conspiracy by Zionists who were angry because of the victory of Hamas."
A pervasive campaign has sought to minimize the Darfur genocide as a Zionist attempt to undermine the Sudanese government.
An Iranian television documentary depicted the Harry Potter novels and movies as part of a Zionist cultural conspiracy to poison young Muslim minds. "They [Zionists] are indirectly saying: 'join us,'" a documentary source said.
American Islamist leaders are not immune from playing the Zionist card, either.

A coalition of American Islamist groups issued a statement condemning a 2001 raid on a Texas computer business for alleged ties to Hamas. "American Muslims view yesterday's action as just one of a long list of attempts by the pro-Israel lobby to intimidate and silence all those who wish to see Palestinian Muslims and Christians free themselves of a brutal Apartheid-like occupation. We believe the genesis of this raid lies not in Washington, but in Tel Aviv."

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Islamic Society of North America, Islamic Circle of North America, Islamic Association for Palestine, Muslim Alliance in North America, Muslim Public Affairs Council, and Muslim Students Association were among the groups signing on to the statement.

The raids led to the successful prosecution of the company, Infocom, and five brothers who helped run it for laundering money for Hamas chief Musa Abu Marzook and violating sanctions against Libya and Syria.

Zaid Shakir, co-founder of Al-Zaytuna College in California, has repeatedly cast the 1993 World Trade Center bombing "as undertaken by Zionist forces to give proof to their allegations concerning the magnitude of 'Islamic fundamentalist' terrorism, and as a pretext to intensify their anti-Islamic propaganda campaign in the U.S. media."

When a radical online group called RevolutionMuslim threatened the producers of "South Park" for an episode depicting the Prophet Muhammad in a bear suit, two CAIR officials hinted that the hand of Zionists was lurking in the shadows.

"Most suspect the group is fraudulent," CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab wrote in a Chicago Tribune column. "Its mysterious leader, born Joseph Cohen, is an American Jew who converted to Islam in 2000 after living in Israel and attending an orthodox rabbinical school there."

National spokesman Ibrahim Hooper dismissed the threat, saying "most Muslims suspect they [Revolution Muslim] were set up only to make Muslims look bad."

Zachary Chesser, one of the men behind the threats, entered guilty pleas in October to charges related to the South Park incident and for conspiring to provide material support to the Somali terrorist group al-Shabaab.

Athens - Greece is planning to build a fence along its border with Turkey in a bid to keep out illegal immigrants, Citizen Protection Minister Christos Papoutsis said in an interview on Saturday.

'Cooperation with the other EU states is going well. .., now we plan to construct a fence to deal with illegal migration,' he told the semi-official Athens News Agency ANA.

In the six months up till the end of November, 33,000 illegal immigrants have been detected crossing the Greek-Turkish land border. Most are from Afghanistan, Algeria, Pakistan, Somalia and Iraq.

Papoutsis said the 206-kilometre-long fence would be like the one erected by the United States along its frontier with Mexico.

The minister did not say whether the European Union had been informed of the plan. Since November, European Union teams have been patrolling the border with Greek police.

It is the first time that a team of the EU's Rapid Border Intervention agency Frontex has been deployed to an EU member state since the teams were created in 2007.

Papoutsis said that in 2010 an average of '200 refugees each day' had crossed into Greece from Turkey.

Around 80 per of the illegal immigrants in the EU arrive via Greece. Large numbers then seek to reach Italy via ferry.

There are currently an estimated 300,000 people living illegally in Greece.

Illegal immigrants nabbed by border police are placed in detention camps, which are bursting at the seams. Human rights groups have criticized Greece's asylum policy and and conditions in the camps.

VATICAN CITY, Jan 1 (Reuters) - Pope Benedict, worried over increasing inter-religious violence, will host a summit of world religious leaders in Assisi in October to discuss how they can better promote peace, he announced on Saturday.

Benedict told pilgrims and tourists in St Peter's Square the aim of the meeting would be to "solemnly renew the commitment of believers of every religion to live their own religious faith in the service of the cause for peace".

He made the announcement hours after a bomb killed at least 17 people in a church in Egypt in the latest attack on Christians in the Middle East and Africa.

The Assisi meeting will take place on the 25th anniversary of a similar encounter hosted by the late Pope John Paul in 1986 in the birthplace of St Francis. Continued...
